P3CT for Use in Perovskite Solar Cells (PSCs)

Poly[3-(4-carboxybutyl)thiophene-2,5-diyl] (P3CT) has been widely used as hole-transporting layers (HTLs) in inverted perovskite solar cells (PSCs) due to its high hole mobility and relative stability. P3CT based perovskite solar cells have been shown to be a great option for low cost green solar power with some researchers reporting as high as 19-20% efficiencies. Poly[3-(4-carboxybutyl)thiophene-2,5-diyl] (P3CT) can be directly applied as an HTL in PSCs or the P3CT can modified by doping with an alkali metal ion or other salt. Due to the hydrophilicity and functionality of carboxylated side chains the P3CT can be easily processed for fabricating your PSC.
